Sins of The Flesh by Caridad Pineiro ~ Book Review & Giveaway!
This is a sticky post! Scroll down for new content!
Caterina Shaw’s days are numbered. Her only chance for survival is a highly experimental gene treatment – a risk she willingly takes. But now Caterina barely recognizes herself. She has new, terrifying powers, an exotic, arresting body — and she’s been accused of a savage murder, sending her on the run.
Mick Carrera is a mercenary and an expert at capturing elusive, clever prey. Yet the woman he’s hunting down is far from the vicious killer he’s been told to expect: Caterina is wounded, vulnerable, and a startling mystery of medical science. Even more, she’s a beautiful woman whose innocent sensuality tempts Mick to show her exactly how thrilling pleasure can be. The heat that builds between them is irresistible, but surrendering to it could kill them both . . . for a dangerous group is plotting its next move using Caterina as its deadly pawn.

Let me start by saying that I typically do not enjoy romance novels. Sure, as a teen I loved the Harlequin novels but not so much any more. This book may have changed that for me.
Sins of The Flesh had romance and lust but there was oh so much more. You have an unlikely heroine, Caterina Shaw, who is slowly morphing into some type of creature as a result of terrifying genetic testing. The hero is Mick Carrera that is truly a bad boy in every sense of the word. He’s chasing her, she’s trying to survive, and in it all they fall in love.
Along with eerie scientific testing, mutations, and intrigue, there is a story of true family loyalty from Mick’s family, none more so than his sister Liliana Carrera, a doctor, in her own twisted relationship. We follow as Mick tries to piece together what is truly going on Caterina’s body that allows her blend in with her surroundings much like a chameleon and also allows her to heal in rapid speeds. He resists feeling anything personal for her as he tries to figure out why the doctors that did this to her accuse her of murder.
I didn’t really know what to expect when I first started reading this novel but the author, Caridad Pineiro, does a fabulous job of weaving the love story with the mystery and intrigue together seamlessly. It is a page turner and I finished just a couple of days after receiving it.
I highly recommend this for anyone that is into paranormal reads or romance or both! I will be looking for more of Caridad Pineiro’s books in the future.

Every time you review a book, I always want to go buy it and read it. Now, I haven’t read (finished) the books I started in about 10 months. I’ve read ONE book so far this year. ONE. I love paranormal, romance, thriller, suspense, sci fi, fantasy, the list goes on and on. I promise to add this one to my list!
TOO COOL SHE SIGNED IT! I’d geek out too!!
Living in Australia, I know how much shipping can be a pain in the butt. I always admire authors who go the extra bit and offer giveaways – especially internationally.
And I love it when authors sign books, too.
My favourite romance is, erm, technically a YA novel – The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley. I have always adored the book, though.
I read Caridad’s book Sin’s of the Flesh and really enjoyed the medical science that she added. Knowing the research she did made the book more interesting for me. I can hardly wait for the next one!
